Alphacool, Corsair And Phanteks Versus A Toasty ASUS RTX 4090 Strix/Tuf

TechPowerUp have three GPU coolers, specifically designed for two of ASUS’ lines of RTX 4090s.  The Alphacool Core, CORSAIR Hydro XG7 RGB, and Phanteks Glacier G4090 GeForce RTX 4090 Strix + TUF coolers are in competition to see which is the best choice for your system.   The Alphacool Core will run you around $190, the Corsair Hydro is around $210 and the Phanteks Glacier would cost you at least $250 so you can already see some differences.  It is also worth mentioning that the Alphacool and Corsair coolers come with a three year warranty while the Phanteks is only two years.

Those details are important, but so is the relative performance of the three GPU coolers.  The Alphacool Core is the best performing of the three, though not by a large enough amount for TPU to call the other two unimpressive.  The physical measurements also play a factor, the Alphacool is taller than the others, though the Corsair is also rather high while the Phanteks has enough extra length you may need to check your case before picking one up.

It’s a tight contest, so check out all three as you may find you lean towards the aesthetics of one model more than the other two.

Our GeForce RTX 4090 GPU block testing continues with Alphacool entering the foray. The newly released Alphacool Core is a relatively inexpensive full cover block with clean looks, integrated RGB lighting, excellent thermal performance, and low coolant flow restriction too.
