Feast Your Eyes On The Dead Sexy ASUS RTX 3070 Noctua Edition
What Can Brown Do For You?
There are some people out there who do not appreciate the glory that is Noctua’s colour scheme, and they are simply wrong. That is what makes this new version of the RTX 3070 from ASUS so absolutely brilliant. The ASUS RTX 3070 Noctua Edition sports two 120mm Noctua NF-A12x25 fans, the exact same as you would find on some of their heatsinks. This does have an effect on the girth of the card, at 4.3 slots it is bigger than anything else out there, with measurements of 310 x 147 x 87.5 mm (12.2 x 5.8 x 3.4″). The design does have one other interesting feature, the choice to use standard PWM fans means they are replaceable, you could defile the glory that is the ASUS RTX 3070 Noctua Edition by putting in different 120mm fans if you were so dastardly as to desire such a thing.
The card ships with GPU frequencies of 1845MHz, 1815MHz if you switch to quiet mode, the 8GB of GDDR6 are set to stock at 14Gbps. That is only the suggested speed limit, with KitGuru managing to add 130MHz to the GPU and 1200MHz to the memory and propelled it to the top of the RTX 3070 charts, though it does pull 272.8W at that point.
The temperatures and sound levels are the real stars here, the card ran under 60C under full load with the hot spot remaining under 70C. As for this noise levels, KitGuru couldn’t accurately measure them as they were so quiet all they were capturing was the background noise of the room.
This one is worth checking out … not that you’ll find it for sale at a reasonable price any time soon, especially not a Chromax version!
It sports two 120mm Noctua NF-A12x25 fans, the classic brown and beige colour scheme, and is even 4.3 slots thick… so let’s find out what it is all about.
