AMD's current "We're in the Game" promotion offers a glimpse at upcoming product names, including the Radeon RX 490 graphics card, and the new Bristol Ridge APUs.

It seems safe to assume that the new products listed – including the Radeon RX 490 – are close to release, though details on the high-end Polaris GPU are not mentioned. We do have details on the upcoming Bristol Ridge products, with this in-depth preview from Josh published back in April. The A12-9800 and A12-9800E are said to be the flagship products in this new 7th-gen lineup, so there will be new desktop parts with improved graphics soon.
At E3, Alienware had
At E3, Alienware had confirmed the existence of Polaris XT so is it possible that either Rx485 or 490 will use that chip with all the CU enabled over the 480.

That’s always true, as the designs are over-provisioned for execution resources to assure yields! So when things improve on the fabrication lines more parts are able to be made above the original yield expectation and those parts are top binned for a later release with an XT, or a little higher number on the new part. Now that Polaris 10/RX480 is ready for release along with its lower binned RX470 and the Polaris 11 based RX460 parts, there is some more room above the RX480 to make some improved offerings. Maybe there will be some memory improvements to go along with the yet unreleased XT/whatever parts that will begin appearing in a few more months! Vega will be hopefully coming soon enough so there can be more competition at the top end and with HBM2 memory! And there is Zen to look forward to for completing AMD’s more affordable gaming/VR gaming/computing mantra.
The RX 470 is expected to be
The RX 470 is expected to be a harvested 480, so harvesting parts for yield is potentially accounted for.
The RX 480 is advertised as having 36 Compute units of 64 shaders each, for 2304 shaders.
The die layout shows 4 quandrants of 9 compute units.
Each compute unit is a column of 4 groups of 4×4 blocks.

(There is also a 3×4 block, presumably the texture units.)
So all 2304 shaders are counted in the die layout.
Therefore, if the 490 is based on the same chip, it cannot have more than 2304 units.
(… assuming the die layout is correct …)
In theory, the 490 number might be reserved for Vega in Q4/Q1, though it seems strange to reserve only one number, as there should be die harvested parts for that chip also.
More likely, the 490 number is reserved for Polaris dual-gpu boards.

I don’t see the A10-7860K and can’t figure out why it’s not there.
I kind of always thought that
I kind of always thought that AMD had to have something that can compete with the GTX 1070, they simply can’t leave it unchallenged until possibly October otherwise that’s just giving the $300-$400 price segment to Nvidia whish is typically where the sweet spot for gfx cards resides.
I’m hopeful we’ll see the full Polaris 10 with 2560 SPs announced by the end of July and no later than August. I’m hoping the decision to delay was a combination of not spoiling the RX 480 launch, waiting for better yields per wafer and possibly GDDR5X memory chip availability to improve.
If this turns out to be the case, I’ll be extremely excited if it can come in at ~$349 even for a reference card.

I have read about AMD mentioning Polaris being a modular design. In which case, seeing a larger Polaris chip seems plausible.
