Try To Fit That Whole Name On A Heatspreader

MSI have updated their SSD lineup with PCIe 5.0 with the launch of the Spatium M570 Pro FROZR in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB models.  The FPS Review had a chance to test the 2TB model and so proceeded to push the SSD to it’s limits.  The 2TB drive is rated for sequential reads of up to 12,400MB/s and a sequential writes topping at 11,800MB/s.  The endurance is 1400TB and there is a five year warranty if you run into problems on setup or down the line.

The most striking feature of the Spatium M570 Pro FROZR is the heatsink, which stands 2.75″ (70mm) tall. This helps passively dissipate the 11W of power the SSD sucks down but could make installation difficult for some, forcing them to revert to active cooling.   The performance is as impressive as the heatsink, topping the charts at The FPS Review. The performance will cost you though, with prices at launch ranging from $300-$350.

The new MSI SPATIUM M570 PRO PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 2TB FROZR launching today, is the successor to both the MSI SPATIUM M480 and M470 SSDs as well as the previous M570. It introduces MSI’s fastest PCIe Gen5 performance to date to MSI’s lineup with a passively cooled SSD based on the Phison E26 controller and high-density 3D TLC NAND with a DRAM cache on board.
