Lenovo Announces Ryzen 4000 and 10th Gen Core Legion Gaming Laptops

After teasing updates earlier this month, Lenovo today announced new additions to its Legion gaming lineup featuring the latest hardware options from AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA. In addition to newly designed gaming laptops, Lenovo has also announced new gaming desktops, displays, and peripherals.

In addition to naming changes, the Legion gaming laptops all received design and hardware updates, including universal support for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.0, and Dolby Atmos.

Lenovo Legion 7

The Legion 7 is a high-end 15.6-inch gaming laptop powered by Intel’s latest 10th Gen H-series Core processors and NVIDIA’s new RTX SUPER Max-Q GPUs. The 20mm thick chassis features improved cooling, thin bezels with top-mounted webcam and privacy shutter, the new Legion TrueStrike RGB Keyboard with full numeric keypad, larger one-piece trackpad, accent RGB lighting around the base, rear I/O layout for easy cable management, and a clean slate gray design that Lenovo says will fit well at both a LAN party and business meeting.

The Lenovo Legion 7 starts at $1,599.99 and will be available in May.

Lenovo Legion 5

The Legion 5-series are mid-range gaming laptops starting with the 15.6-inch Legion 5, powered by up to the Ryzen 7 4800H paired with NVIDIA’s GTX 1650 or GTX 1650 Ti mobile GPU.

Other features include the Legion TrueStrike Keyboard with full numeric keypad (optional RGB lighting), larger one-piece trackpad, improved cooling design, top-mounted webcam with privacy shutter, and rear I/O.

The AMD-powered Lenovo Legion 5 starts at $849.99 and will be available in May.

Lenovo Legion 5i

The Legion 5i is Lenovo’s Intel-based counterpart. Available in both 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch models, the 5i is powered by up to the latest 10th Gen Core i7 H-series processors and NVIDIA RTX 2060 mobile graphics.

The 15-inch Legion 5i shares the same basic design as the AMD-based Legion 5, but the Intel-only 17-inch model adds an optional 80Whr battery.

The Intel-based 15-inch Lenovo Legion 5i starts at $829.99 while the 17-inch model starts at $1,129.99. Both are expected to launch in May.

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3

The entry-level IdeaPad Gaming 3 is a 15.6-inch laptop powered by Intel’s 10th Gen H-series processors and up to NVIDIA’s GTX 1650 Ti mobile graphics.

It features side-oriented I/O, a top-mounted webcam with privacy shutter, full numeric keypad, larger one-piece trackpad, and blue backlit keyboard.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 starts at $729.99 and will be available in May.

Legion Tower 5i

Lenovo’s latest desktop gaming PC is a microATX-based system available at launch with Intel’s 10th Gen Comet Lake processors (models based on AMD platforms will be available “later this year”), up to NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER graphics, up to 32GB of DDR4 memory, up to 1TB PCIe storage, Wi-Fi 6, and either a 400W or 650W power supply depending on configuration.

The 28-liter Legion Tower chassis features a compact design with integrated carrying handle, top-mounted front I/O, larger transparent side panel, aRGB lighting, improved air intake and exhaust, and optional liquid cooling configurations.

The Legion Tower 5i starts at $799.99 and will be available in May.

Legion Displays & Peripherals

In addition to the laptops and desktops, Lenovo provided pricing and launch details for other Legion peripherals, some of which had been previously teased earlier this year at CES.

Legion Y25-25 ($319.99): 24.5-inch 1920×1080 IPS display with up to 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, HDR decoding capability, 400 nits brightness, and FreeSync compatibility (G-SYNC Compatible certification pending). Available June 2020.

Legion M600 ($79.99): 9-button wireless gaming mouse with USB-C port, 2.4GHz/BT/wired connectivity, up to 200-hour battery life, 16,000 DPI Pixart 3335 sensor, ambidextrous design, RGB lighting on logo and wheel, and on-board memory. Available April 2020.

Legion M300 ($29.99): 8-button wired gaming mouse with 8,000 DPI sensor, ambidextrous design, RGB lighting on the logo, and textured side grips. Available April 2020.

Legion K300 ($49.99): Wired “mechanical-like membrane” gaming keyboard with five-zone RBG lighting, advanced anti-ghosting and 24-key rollover, and programmable function and media keys. Available May 2020.
