Corsair has introduced their new Katar gaming mouse, designed with input from professional gamers and boasting an 8000 DPI optical sensor and 1000 Hz polling rate. And the Katar also features an ambidextrous design and a retail of just $39.99.
Not many gaming mice are geared towards both right and left-handed players, and Corsair’s compact Katar mouse is also very lightweight – which may not be everyone’s preference, but still a feature for longer sessions.
“Katar’s compact and ultra-lightweight 85g ambidextrous design makes it supremely comfortable to play with all day, whether you’re left or right-handed, and its rubber side grips mean gamers always have a firm hold, no matter how intense the action gets.”
The mouse also features “Pro Player Mode”, which Corsair explains “allows gamers to take advantage of pre-configured performance and tuning settings used by the world’s top players”. There are also 4 programmable buttons and on-the-fly DPI tuning on top of the 1000 Hz polling rate and 8000 DPI sensor, making this seem like a very capable little gaming mouse.
Here are the specifications from Corsair:

you’ll have to forgive, asRosewill RGM1100. As it, to the naked eye, looks conspicuously similar to some of this company’s other gaming oriented clickers. The two are similarly priced. With the more ‘generic’ of the two occupying the bargain spot. So it maybe non-issue/story. But nevertheless. Was curious and you guys would know more than myself.
you’ll have to forgive, as its slightly off topic, albeit in regards to rodents in general however. As well as this particular company’s other offerings in this field. But I was wondering if u could shed any light/insight on this little guy
It looks like a Corsair shell
It looks like a Corsair shell with an Avago ADNS-9800 sensor in it. This is often under appreciated, but nice mice tend to have very good sensors in them and cheaper mice have worse sensors. For example, I would rather have the optical sensor in the Corsair m45 than the laser in the Rosewill RMG1100. I think that the Rosewill would be closest to the m65 without a sniper buttion – and I don’t think you can justify the added price for just that one button.
My money is on interpolation,
My money is on interpolation, especially for a moues at this price. The 9800 sensors have 8200 DPI, and Corsair wouldn’t reduce it for whatever reason.

Any indication of dimensions? It’s always a bit tricky trying to gauge it from pictures.

It’s a personal thing, but as
It’s a personal thing, but as a rightie I don’t believe in ambidextrous mice.
Looks like a mouse, and you won’t get sticker shock.
