That's basically one of the main reasons why Blizzard develops for the PC. Their games are not just played, but sell for longer than just about any console platform is supported for. Diablo II is still sold at retail and it launched in the Nintendo 64 era.

I have no problem with the
I have no problem with the auction house being delayed. There are several issues that exist with it today that makes it not even work right. Search is broken. Half of the searchable stats/attributes don't work and there are ones that are missing or have been taken out of search. Though I understand that there are players like Branthog above who simply play through the story once that really isn't where Diablo shines and it certainly isn't the norm for Diablo II players that have purchased this game. I would say 50% of players are the play it once through and your done, but that is still millions of players that will keep playing it for the next decade or more.

I still don't get the point
I still don't get the point of the auction house. Diablo is a single player (or four player, at best) game. You play it and you beat it in about five to ten hours. I don't need an auction house in Diablo 3 anymore than I need an auction house in Max Payne 3.
